World Cup : ENGLAND 2019 , The Stars in the making .

The kind of format this world cup will be hosting is one of its kind spanning across a month and few days . This time no surprises , no flukes , no one match wonders can get you through the next stage .

You need to be perform consistently to be at the top which will eventually decide your fate in the semis .

Each team will get equal chances as they will be playing in round robin against one another .

Aahhh!!!! Its a perfect problem for Permutation and Combination in a Mathematics book .

Question : If there are 10 teams in the world cup and each team will play the other team , How many number of matches would the world cup be hosting ?( Assuming after the matches 2 semis and 1 finals , although PLAY-OFFS make more sense to me but ICC is evolving slowly so fingers-crossed in the next world cup )Answer : 10 C 2 i.e. 45 + 2+ 1 = 48

Now that we are clear of the fact that this world cup will require some serious consistency, perseverance and fitness , let us look at the players I am really looking forward to be “Game Turners” in this World cup 2019 .

Be it IPL , Big Bash or any other league he has looked a class apart . England also tweaked their rules to get him into the team .

Jonny Bairstow

His promotion from a bench-opener to a permanent opener in the team has already stated a lot about his class . Playing his first world cup that too in his home he is bound to leave a mark .

Rassie van der Dussen

He made his debut in the recent Pakistan South Africa series and already have left his mark on the cricketing field . He has the temperament a play-maker needs to win his teams ICC tournaments .

Reeza Hendricks

Smashing a ton in his debut and slowly pushing Markram out of the side he should be considered seriously for a great World cup debut .

Jimmy Neesham

Being a perfect choice of a pacer all-rounder in a country like England he has also shown his capabilities against likes of Srilanka yet to be tested against better bowling oppositions . Seeing the way he dominated Lankans I think he might be a Game changer New Zealand needs after this humiliating defeat against an Indian team without Bumrah .

Shaheen Afridi

Being effective with both new and old ball with his pace variations at the death and swinging beauties in the powerplays makes him one of the contenders of an emerging world cup talent .

Rashid Khan

A pretty common site nowadays when he runs off taking wickets in crucial moments for his nation / club team . He is a must watch in his first world cup and Afghanistan’s hopes mostly depends on how he performs with bat and ball .

Mujeeb Zadran

Taking mystery spin bowling to a new level by opening the bowling , he has secured a permanent place in the wickets column for a long time now . Afghanistan’s spin duo( Another mention is Zahir Khan , raw yet effective ) has a lot banking on them for Afghanistan’s dream world cup run .

Andre Russel

A humongous hitter with bat , fiery express with bowl and a livewire in the field makes him the most sought after all-rounder this world cup where he can turn the tables for his team . An impact player but his fitness is a bit of concern . If 100% fit , West Indies stand a chance with him there .

Nicolas Pooran (You were expecting Heytmer right ?? Read on!!!!)

A very under rated batsman in the West Indian squad is this youngster . His flamboyance reminds me of the days when West Indies used to rule cricket .Heytmyer has been very inconsistent in his performances with a brilliant one in India and way below average in Bangladesh .

India's Contention

Kuldeep Yadav

I have a very strong feeling that this time he will be man of the series for sure if India wins this world cup . His wicket -taking abilities are unmatched and the way he deceives the batsmen in flight is a serious concern for all the teams including the Asian nations .

Jaspreet Bumrah

His indiscriminate yorkers neither worries about the pitch nor the batsman . He is one of a kind bowler who can deliver yorkers on the drop of a hat . His economy will matter a lot in the death for India .

I have not added the likes of Kohli , Sharma , Smith , Stokes , Williamson etc in the list as they are expected and will perform in the world cup for sure .

But these are the players I am looking out for who can be a surprise package or are performing in their first world cup ever .
