Image
Saeed Anwar, the talented cricketer, etched his name in history with an incredible stroke of luck. On that fateful day, he achieved something extraordinary—scoring 194 runs in a single innings. Let's delve into the serendipitous events that unfolded. May 21, 1997, marked a memorable day at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. Anwar's masterful display caught the attention of spectators and pundits alike. Breaking a 13-year-old record set by Vivian Richards, he surpassed all expectations. However, it's essential to recognize the fortuitous circumstances that contributed to this remarkable feat. A closer look reveals that fortune played a significant role in Anwar's achievement. Examining the photograph of Anwar, we witness his exhaustion and wonder how he managed to accumulate such an impressive score. The answer lies in an unconventional turn of events—he had a stroke of luck. You see, Anwar was physically unfit, unable to endure the demanding conditions of the game. T

What is the craziest thing a cricketer has done on the field during a match?

Soumya Sarkar Asela Gunaratne to Soumya Sarkar . Score, match and ground irrelevant . Got beaten . Clean Bowled . This should be the normal sight or reaction by a batsman . But the reaction Soumya gave, I think he kind of flabbergasted himself too . You know what he did ??? Yes,he asked for a DRS !!!!!!! Umpire, fielders and non-striker were amazed . Then umpire had to tell him to walk back to the pavillion as getting bowled does not fall under the purview of “Decision” Review system . Although it might fall under “DUMB” review system . A great reception in the Pavilion would have been a “Naagin” dance by the entire team for Soumya Sarkar . Source : Bangladeshi Opener Soumya Sarkar Becomes First Batsman To Review A Clean Bowled!

The day when "BANGLADESH" shocked the world .

Mohammad Ashraful 100 Vs “The Almighty Australians”. The Build Up 2nd Match, NatWest Series at Cardiff, Jun 18 2005. Australians were the obvious favorites to win the match and the only question was the margin of victory. With the Golden era of the Australian team still intact with the likes of Gilly,Hayden,Ponting,Martyn,Clarke,Hussey and McGrath. Symonds missed the match due to disciplinary hearing but even after that Bangladesh’s chances were next to none. Bangladesh was just playing to fill the third spot of a Triangular series . Australian Innings To everyone’s surprise Bangladesh’s opening bowlers started off well by removing Ponting and Gilchrist leaving Australia at 9/2. A rare bad outing for two of the greats in the Australian team but the Australian middle order was as dominant as the top order. Aussies managed to score a respectable score of 249( respectable in *2005,now you can lose even to Zimbabwe after scoring this ),thanks to a 77 from Martyn .

Striker Non-Striker "A Couple"

Image
Have you ever seen a married couple batting together in international cricket ? Your Answer on 11th November,2018 would have been NONE  Or  What a stupid question!!!! but your answer and facts have changed in the span of a day . The answer today will be South African captain Dane van Niekerk and South African All rounder Marizanne Kapp . South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk and her wife Marizanne Kapp became the first ever married pair to bat together in an ICC tournament, achieving the feat against Sri Lanka in Women's World T20 on Monday. The duo shared a third-wicket stand of 67 to help South Africa win. They also took their respective 50th T20I wickets in the match. Congratulations to the couple and Jaw drop for others (“including me) who thought   that this “was” impossible.

"The Nightmare at the 2007 ICC World Cup: India's Disastrous Batting Performance against Bangladesh"

ICC World Cup 2007,Group Stage match India Vs Bangladesh. Mistakes are as serious as the consequences they cause. As It Happened Match started with Indian team as utter favourites but as far as World cup was concerned Indian team were facing Bangladesh for the first time ever. No pressure on the Indian team as we were loaded with stars who according to us “The Indian fans” cannot fail on the same day to give birth to the miracle of Bangladesh winning the match. If this fight was “On Papers” ,Indian team would have been declared winner even before the toss. After winning the toss Dravid opted to bat first . Habibul Bashar during the presentation told Indian team to be restricted to 250. Ganguly and Sehwag opened for India . After a tight few overs by the Bangladeshi seamers Sehwag was looking for an opportunity to free his arms with his favorite cut-shot but only managed an Inside-edge back to the stumps. WICKET!!! Huge wicket . Any bowler is happy to see Sehwag’s back

Performing brilliantly in IPL and auctions were filled with the bidders for Afghan’s players.( Rashid,Mujeeb,Nabi and Zahir ) Reaching the semis of U19 WC earlier this year beating a well-established NZ team. "Sean Abbott: A Story of Resilience and Inspiration in Cricket"

Image
25th November, 2014 We remember this tragic and unfortunate image from SCG where a young talent lost his life while following his passion. Yes,I am talking about Phil Hughes,” The man who remained 63* ” *not out in our hearts forever. But today lets talk about someone who took an equivalent blow on his life. SEAN ABBOTT. He inspires me. Why inspirational you say? Lets read what Steve Harmison quoted on this incidence. “There is a wider issue in all of this, a 25-year old has died playing the game he loved, but there is also a 22-year-old fast bowler who has to live with that for the rest of his life. ” —Harmison International career Sean Abbott's talent was identified early when he was selected to make his limited-overs debut for NSW as an 18-year-old. However, his breakthrough season didn't come until three years later during the 2013-14 summer which saw him finish as the leading wicket-taker in the Ryobi Cup with 16 , while taking 7 wickets in

The Unbelievable Comeback: South Africa's Triumph over Australia in the 434-run Thriller"

After the I innings my opinion: “Graeme Smith is one of the most unluckiest captains of this era.” After the match was over: “Ricky Ponting just superseded Graeme Smith in bad luck after just 50 overs of cricket” Let me explain the context: South Africa VS Australia,Johannesburg,2006,THE FINAL( Bilateral tournament). Australia decided to bat first and scored a mammoth 434–4. “Graeme Smith is one of the most unluckiest captains of this era.” As Graeme Smith had to cling on to this dubious honor of captaining a team who conceded the highest total in ODIs ever. During the overs when Ponting and Hussey were slamming them all over the park,Herschelle Gibbs( Who actually had a bad hang over that day,I mean literally ) walked over to Mark Boucher and asked in an amazed tone, ” Bouch,I think they are going to do well over 400 today ”. To which Boucher replied, ” Try again Hersch!! do the math.We are going to do bloody well to keep them to 400 ” End of the innings drama in
